Do more, for less. That’s the kind of energy we’re putting out there and we want you to do the same.
Doing more for less means optimizing your supplements, nutrition, training, and recovery so that you can get better results, more easily. UNBOWED BCAAs are a best-seller for this reason: a three-in-one supplement that hydrates, energizes, and synthesizes new muscle.
What we are trying to tell you is this, it’s a supplement that does more.
In this post, we’re going to break down some of the science behind our highly rated BCAAs so that you can give them a try knowing that you’re getting the most bang for your buck.
Let’s get started.
Amino acids are the building blocks of protein and there are more than 20 unique types, with nine essential (meaning they cannot be created by the body so must come from the diet) and the rest non-essential (meaning they can be created in the body). Out of these nine essential amino acids, three are grouped together to form a branched-chain of amino acids: valine, leucine, and isoleucine.
UNBOWED BCAAs are an upgraded version of common BCAAs, containing all three BCAAs, alongside glutamine and a natural hydrator to enhance the effects of each ingredient.
What are the benefits of UNBOWED BCAAs?
Here are some of the key benefits of UNBOWED BCAAs according to research.
1. Muscle growth
BCAAs promote muscle protein synthesis - the hypertrophy of muscle tissue. According to a study published in the Journal of Nutrition in 2006, BCAAs - specifically leucine - activate specific biochemical pathways known as mTOR and p70 S6 kinase in the muscles. This has anabolic effects on protein metabolism by increasing the rate of protein synthesis and decreasing the rate of protein breakdown at rest.
A study that tested the effects of BCAAs on muscle protein synthesis in a group of ten young resistance-trained men found that when supplementing with 5.6 grams of BCAAs post-workout, they experienced an increase of muscle protein synthesis by 22 percent.
2. Reduce delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS)
To alleviate that post-workout pain, drink UNBOWED BCAAs. The aminos reduce muscle damage and promote healing, optimizing recovery time between workouts.
A study that tested this, asked a group of twelve healthy untrained participants to consume BCAAs on the morning of an exercise session that consisted of seven sets of 20 squats. The researchers found that compared to the placebo group, the BCAA group experienced significantly reduced DOMS, serum myoglobin did not increase (a biomarker of muscle damage) and the concentration of plasma elastase (a biomarker of muscle protein breakdown) only increased slightly compared to the placebo.
3. Effective hydration
UNBOWED BCAAs contain coconut water powder to effectively hydrate you pre and post-workout - up to three times more effective than water alone! A study concluded that coconut water is the most effective way to rehydrate post-workout.
Being adequately hydrated is also a key component of exercise recovery, specifically for muscle protein synthesis and muscle repair.
And pain post-workout pain is not the only "pain" that our BCAAs are good for.
Did you know that hydration alone with the help of sodium and electrolytes can help you with those late nights out on the town?
We'll keep you waiting in suspense on this one ...
4. Contains glutamine
Glutamine, another amino acid, is a popular ingredient in sports supplements for a reason: research shows it boosts exercise performance and helps retain muscle mass. This is because glutamine is a cell volumizer, increasing the water content within the muscle, helping with the above processes. This in turn also aids to help prevent dehydration.
This is particularly beneficial if you are in a caloric deficit, to prevent the excess breakdown of muscle tissue, which can halt fat loss and impact performance.
It’s clear that the UNBOWED BCAAs are a supplement that does it all: helping you to feel, perform, and recover better than ever so that you can accelerate your progress with ease.
But here's the best part of all, and solely from our personal experience only, UNBOWED BCAAs can help you cure a hangover! You can try to find the science to back this one up, but we're here to tell you ... you won't! But our pack members' swear by it!
Here's the how and why.
We all know that alcohol can wreak havoc on your stomach, right? Well, the 6 grams of glutamine in our BCAAs can help lessen the inflammation, soothe the intestinal tissue, and help boost immune cell activity in the gut just when you need it most.
And like we mentioned above, the sodium and electrolytes from the coconut water help hydrate you and will also help prevent those pounding headaches in the morning.
So if you're considering tossing one back this weekend, before the drink takes you, take one scoop of our BCAAs and call us in the morning.
